About Joy Lawson
Joy Lawson is a Program Director, Instructor, Creative Educator, and Youth Development Leader dedicated to empowering the next generation through education, mentorship, and community-driven programming.She currently serves as Program Director of the Young Women’s Entrepreneurship Program (YWEP), where she leads strategic planning, program execution, and student development initiatives focused on preparing young women for college, careers, and entrepreneurship. In this role, she also serves as both a Curriculum Developer and Instructor, designing and teaching outcomes-based courses in entrepreneurship and professional etiquette that equip students with critical business, leadership, and life skills.Joy oversees internship programming for over 200 students across pre-career pathways, managing employer partnerships, coordinating placements, and implementing career readiness initiatives that bridge education and workforce development. She also serves as a Scholarship Advisor for the Black Women Empowerment initiative, where she designs and facilitates a structured curriculum and annual programming model supporting 40 young women in their academic, personal, and leadership development.With a strong background in program management, fundraising, and event leadership, Joy has successfully executed large-scale initiatives, including pitch competitions, leadership programs, and community engagement events that expand access and opportunity for underserved youth.
