ABOUT JOY KEKE
My name is Joy Keke, and I am a Journalism and Law student at Carleton University with experience in reporting, editorial leadership, and storytelling. As Managing Editor of Crime and Ethos, Carleton University’s official criminology journal, I help guide rigorous, ethical reporting on issues related to law, justice, and accountability.I am especially drawn to journalism that centres community voices and contributes to a well-informed public, with a focus on inclusive, accurate reporting that reflects the lived realities of diverse communities across Canada. I am motivated by a commitment to building work that uplifts marginalized voices and leaves a meaningful, accountable impact through journalism. My work has been featured in the Charlatan, Her Campus Media, and Capital Current as well as investigations with the Leveller. I am also interested in visual storytelling as a way of conveying storytelling!I am open to feedback to get more experience in my field and collaborate with other journalists.Fun fact: I’m 5’4”, which has taught me efficiency, adaptability, and—when necessary—the importance of asking for help reaching high shelves.
