ABOUT JOVANA PLAVŠIĆ

I craft real-time 3D visualizations and immersive virtual reality experiences for a wide range of industries. With over 6 years of experience in 3D computer graphics, I have created 3D content and interactive applications for architecture and spatial planning, nuclear physics, mining, hydrology, and historical documentary film. My expertise in 3D modeling, virtual reality, and digital twins allows me to merge creativity and technical skills. I hold a PhD from the University of British Columbia, where I developed an innovative solution for remote operations in heavy industries using VR and digital twin technologies.Passionate about using innovation to make a purposeful impact, I am continually engaged in fostering collaboration and education for experts and the general public to accelerate digitalization. As a presenter at international conferences across Europe, Asia, and North America, I have covered various design and emerging technology topics. I have over 10 research manuscripts published in peer-reviewed academic journals and conference proceedings. As a mentor both at UBC and Educons University, I have led workshops for university students on XR development, 3D modeling, and digital interactivity.In my spare time, I create visual, digital, and performative artworks and have exhibited in over 6 countries. In 2019, I participated in PLAN8T Artist-in-Residence program in China, and in 2022, I received 3rd Prize in the Digital Photography category at Ventipertrenta festival.
