About Saumya Raj
I have completed my Diploma in Hindi Journalism from the Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC). After completing the journalism course, I worked on the business desk of News18 Hindi Digital for about one and a half years. Along with this, during my time at IIMC, I closely understood and worked on issues such as gender, sex, caste, religion, inequality, and stereotypes prevalent in society, including topics related to homosexuality with Feminism In India.In addition to this, I have also done freelance reports for organizations like Newslaundry and Feminism in India. I have also maintained a personal blog. My primary objective in pursuing a career in journalism has been to acquire hands-on experience, listen to people, understand their issues, and address them.As a journalist, I want to learn, understand and work on issues at the grassroots level. I aim to utilize my skill set to write and speak on social issues, with a particular focus on human rights, development, gender, caste and related issues. I am keen on constantly enhancing my competencies.
