ABOUT JOURNEI FERGUSON
I am a senior Computer Science major at Spelman College, a self-professed geek, and more importantly a hard worker. I am the co-founder of an access-driven community organization (The BIT), and I am deeply committed to expanding opportunities in tech for communities that have historically been excluded.Tech gave me access, and I now use that access to open doors and build bridges for others. My strength lies not only in technical proficiency, but in my ability to understand the deeper context behind the problems I aim to solve. I see the underlying structures, the systemic inequities, the historical conditions, and the compounded barriers that often go unnoticed.I am ambitious, creative, and guided by faith. I believe in designing technology that not only functions but frees. And behind all of this: every project, opportunity, and breakthrough, it’s not me but God.
