About Joth Singh

A passionate and committed leader in the environment and sustainable development field with over 25 years wide-ranging experience within government structures and civil society organizations. Has served as an advocate as well as decision-maker and implementer in international, regional, national and local efforts to protect the environment and achieve sustainable development. With a strong academic background in environmental management and sciences he has specialized in sustainable development, environmental policy and legislation, marine sciences, waste management, environmental impact assessment, climate change, water resources management, coastal zone management and protected areas management.He has led a national environmental regulatory organization (EMA) and a Caribbean regional non-governmental organization (CCA) and was a department director at an international non-government organization (IFAW). Possesses good strategic planning skills. Has acquired strong management experience at the policy and technical levels. Has wide project management experience in environmental projects, including project planning, implementation, and monitoring and evaluation. Has engaged in fund-raising through project proposal writing and contributing to fund-raising events. He has been involved in projects supported by GTZ, GIZ, USAID, IDB, World Bank, CDB, GEF, UNEP, UNDP, CIDA, IFAW, USF & WS, Commonwealth Foundation, and T&T Green Fund.An outstanding communicator who enjoys social interaction with a wide variety of persons and personalities. He possesses the ability to interact with a broad range of stakeholders from government ministers to community members. There are numerous demonstrations of his communications skills including speeches at conferences, presentations at workshops, and television and radio interviews with the international, Caribbean regional and national media houses.
