About Josselyn Taylor

I work at the intersection of community voice and institutional decision-making, making sure the people most impacted are not just heard, but shaping outcomes.I don’t treat community engagement as a checkbox. I treat it as infrastructure.I lead Queens Village and co-founded Our Tribe, two distinct bodies of work grounded in the same belief: the communities most affected by broken systems are also the ones who hold the answers. And that belief has to show up in how decisions get made, not just how they’re communicated. At Queens Village, I build systems that center Black women’s voices as a driver of maternal and infant health policy and outcomes. Not as a side effort, but as the foundation. That includes working within Medicaid-adjacent structures, partnering with institutions that hold decision-making power, and ensuring community data informs what gets funded, prioritized, and changed. At Our Tribe, I co-created a model of support for Black families navigating autism, rooted in community, advocacy, and care that actually sees them. What began as a response to a gap in services has grown into a replicable framework that challenges how systems identify, fund, and respond to this population. In my work at Cradle Cincinnati, I’ve learned that trust is the strategy. I help institutions move from good intentions to real accountability by building relationships strong enough to hold hard conversations and translating community knowledge into the language institutions can act on.I’m known for navigating complexity without losing clarity. For making sure the people in the room reflect the people the work is for. For identifying the highest-leverage intervention points and staying focused there.I’m a thinker and a builder, working toward systems that are more accountable, more human, and built to last. My next chapter is in policy, where the infrastructure I’ve built at the community level can inform decisions at scale.
