Mathematical Modeling of Renal Physiology & Computational Simulation for Precision MedicineMy research focuses on developing a personalized digital twin for patient-specific prognosis and therapeutic simulations. I am constructing a multi-scale mathematical model of the kidney, integrating renal hemodynamics, nephron-level autoregulation, and electrolyte transport. A key focus is on the Renin-Angiotensin-Aldosterone System (RAAS) and its role in blood pressure regulation.Key Research Areas:Mathematical Modeling: Using ODE/PDE-based frameworks to simulate renal blood flow, glomerular filtration, and tubular transport.Nephron-Level Dynamics: Modeling glomerular ultrafiltration, tubular reabsorption, and secretion based on ion channel kinetics (e.g, ENaC, NKCC2, ROMK, Na⁺/K⁺-ATPase).Renal Hemodynamics: Simulating afferent/efferent arteriole resistance, myogenic response, and tubuloglomerular feedback (TGF).Electrolyte & Fluid Balance: Incorporating sodium, potassium, and water transport across nephron segments (proximal tubule, loop of Henle, distal tubule, and collecting duct).Computational Simulations: Implementing models in MATLAB & C++, integrating physiological data for personalized simulations.Cardio-Renal Interactions: Extending the model to interact with cardiovascular dynamics, incorporating RAAS feedback loops.Digital Twin Framework: Utilizing patient-specific parameters to personalize simulations for optimizing treatment strategies in hypertension, CKD, and electrolyte disorders.The ultimate goal is to create an organ-scale predictive model that integrates real-world clinical data, enhancing precision medicine and individualized treatment strategies.#Research #ComputationalPhysiology #MathematicalModeling #RenalPhysiology #ElectrolyteBalance #DigitalTwin #PrecisionMedicine
