About Josie Maida

Hello, I\'m Josie - and my whole life has led me to my work in communications, public relations, and marketing! When I was a young girl, my teachers said the same thing year after year - that I enjoyed talking and storytelling too much. When it came time to continue my educational journey to college, I never forgot their words. I realized that this natural passion and the drive I had to connect with others could become my profession. Between 2013 and 2017, I attended the University of Rhode Island, where I studied communication studies and public relations. As a first-generation college student, I wanted to get the most out of this opportunity. I studied abroad in Florence, Italy, and was an active member of Kappa Delta Sorority and the President of the Public Relations Society of America. Each semester and summer, I filled my time with internships at organizations and agencies that helped me to grow my skills in social media. Since graduation, I have worked at boutique and global agencies, plus, The Walt Disney Company. The pandemic shifted my career, and I began to take on freelance work, writing and creating content. I built a small but successful public relations agency, where I provide social media strategy and content to clients. Currently, I am also a communications and marketing manager for AirReps, helping to educate the world on innovation in HVAC. Additionally, I am the host of a popular podcast on theme parks and marketing, The Carousel Project, and I write, mainly about food, entertainment, and travel for outlets such as Yahoo Life! While I love all of my work, I feel the greatest passion for the content I create for my own platforms across platforms like TikTok and Instagram, where I share meals and travels with the world!
