Responsible for managing the North American payroll division. Lead and managed the delivery and implementation of a new payroll system to the business, improving and standardizing the payroll operations and systems. Manage and supervise direct reports within the Payroll Team. Provide leadership, mentorship, training, direction and guidance to the Payroll Team. Auditing the integrity of the payroll system; ensuring all Canadian and American legislations and compliances are practiced. Cascade the necessary payroll information to relevant department, i.e. HR, Finance, Costing and Estimating. Manage company benefit programs. i.e. Group Health Plan, RRSP and 401k. Reconciling all activities related to the payroll department such as year end T4,T4A, W2, and tax reporting to various government agencies. Ensure that internal controls/audit trails are in place, documented, and updated as required.
