Josiah Whitman is CEO of Whitman Partners and helps manage a portfolio of candidates, clients and searches. In this role, he leverages two decades of Director of Surgical Services recruiting experience to work with CEOs, COOs and CNOs to identify, recruit, and develop surgical services director talent. His expertise has been published in OR Manager Magazine and OR Today amongst other publications.Josiah is also the founder of Whitman Partners. Under his leadership, Whitman Partners specializes in talent acquisition for Directors of Surgical Services, undertaking hundreds of retained search engagements annually. The agency also provides interim placements for hospital operating rooms and outpatient surgery centers. To spearhead Whitman Partners’ success and growth, Josiah leans on his experience in previous roles as a recruiter and manager with two national search firms.Beyond his professional endeavors, Josiah has actively contributed to the community, serving in leadership capacities with the City of Portland Small Business Advisory Council. His insights and advice have been sought by the Mayor of Portland and City Council, particularly in areas relevant to small business owners. Josiah has also played a key role on the advisory board for the Greater Portland Tennis Council.Outside the dynamic atmosphere of the dog friendly PDX office, Josiah enjoys playing tennis, pickleball, jogging, and spending quality time with his wife and daughters. He is a proud Colorado College graduate and a lover of sketch comedy.
