About Joshua Tomoyasu
I am a recent UCLA graduate who loves everything transportation. Working around trains has been a lifelong dream of mine, and I am proud that my childhood passion has blossomed into my career. My career in transportation dates back to my junior and senior years of high school, when I interned at LA Metro through their Transportation Career Academy Program. There, I gained \"on-the-job\" experience and professional skills I will carry with me for the rest of my life. Most importantly, I learned the importance of effectively fusing passion and professionalism in an industry that is always on the move. Throughout college, I bolstered my resume by gaining work experience in a variety of industries. From retail at Maido Fine Stationery and Gifts to public safety at the UCLA Police Department to traffic planning at KOA Corporation (A LOCHNER Company), I learned to adapt to each new role\'s unique challenges. From these challenges, I built a work ethic rooted in public service through mobility that drives me every day in the work I do. Today, I am a Transportation Associate at LA Metro Rail Operations, where I apply my knowledge of transportation planning and operations in my role critical to running LA\'s community railroad. As a track allocation coordinator, every day is an exciting puzzle of harmonizing the various maintenance activities that keep our system in a state of good repair. In addition to ensuring Angelinos have access to nothing short of world-class transportation, I work with our special events team to guarantee our service goes above and beyond when our riders need it most. I look forward to connecting and getting to know you! I am open to further opportunities in the transportation and public safety industries.
