ABOUT JOSHUA KAPLAN

My passion and constant curiosity in understanding how finance and numbers runs the world drew me to pursue a Finance degree. My name is Joshua Kaplan and I\'m currently enrolled as a Sophomore BBA Scholar in the Cox School of Business at the Southern Methodist University planning to major in Finance. Being from Houston, Texas, the energy capital of the US, I plan to move back after graduating to pursue a career in Investment Banking. I spent my last two years in High School working at a local Bakery where I learned and developed skills in production, customer service, and sales. In addition, I participated in our Stock Market Club where I successfully invested my portfolio to gain a 300% return. Throughout my participation I was able to develop an understanding of various investment options, outside influences on the market, and research practices in general. While I am at Southern Methodist University I am participating in the Maguire Energy Club, where I am networking with professionals and I am exploring various careers, terminology, and technical skills associated with the energy industry. I am excited to pursue the next steps of advancing into the Investment Banking Industry. I look forward to learning more about the Energy sector through an Investment Banking internship.
