ABOUT JOSHUA JUEN

I lead the traffic engineering team at Aviatrix. We design and build a fully connected inter-cloud transit layer. I am looking for engineers who have a passion for routing packets across a diverse ecosystem. Our two main projects deal with the routing across our transit and the observability of traffic. My current job is to build resilient, highly available routing backbones in the cloud. My team builds routing solutions (Backbone transit, BGP, MPLS, SRv6, IPSLA) that run across multiple cloud service providers and on prem data centers. We also build observability directly into the platform. From individual flow monitoring, through reliable transport and big data processing pipelines. I have experience building the next generation of smart networks capable of using analytics to increase reliability and reduce cost.(Data Pipelines, network ML/AI, Kafka, Spark, Hadoop, Beam, Drill, Grafana)I have designed and built routing solutions for content distribution networks that work on a global scale. From routing protocols, to full data pipelines, I have architected systems that service billions of requests to millions of users daily. Most of these systems require near 100% uptime with full observability. From theory to application, my work has been published in numerous top-tier conferences as well as implemented in cutting edge products in CDN and Cloud. PoC is easy, scaling to billions of users is the exciting challenge.
