I work on Configerator, the config management platform unique to Meta which is used by basically every service we have both internally and externally. I scale and optimize things. Most recently I redesigned and rewrote a service responsible for fetching config file content and metadata, bringing the max capable QPS up from 4k to 600k while using 80% less memory and 92% fewer hosts, with p99 latency reductions to boot. That then allowed me to rearchitect our remote build workflow to increase max p50 CPU util from 30% to 80%, and more significantly, reduce E2E build times for materializing config changes with many dependencies by up to by using a scatter-gather approach. A build that took 4600s to finish with the previous architecture now takes 63s. These are not exceptional cases, they are the new normal.
