About Josh Weiss

I\'m a teacher turned technologist. For 7 years, I worked in public and private K-12 schools in the US and Brazil as a literature and writing instructor. It was a tremendous joy, and it shaped the way that I learn and how I see others learn. I played with technology a lot in the classroom, and saw how it could make my teaching more effective when used in the right way. I also discovered how it could scale to the diverse needs and interests of my students in a way that I alone could not. I wanted to know more. So I pursued advanced degrees in education and digital media design, and found new ways to connect learning and technology in the classroom. I now do this for a living, except for lots of people. I don\'t walk into a classroom every morning, but I manage a team of talented and humble people that help folks who do. Working in Silicon Valley, I track innovations in digital learning as well as emerging technologies like AI, XR, and blockchain. I advise a handful of startups and organizations regarding the education technology landscape. I enjoy chatting with educators, researchers, designers, technologists, expats, musicians, knowledge hounds, and raconteurs.
