About Joshua David White
Today I lead safety and emergency management for one of Amazon’s newest and fastest-growing business units — the Amazon Warehouse Distribution (AWD) model at ONT9 in Redlands, California. My work focuses on building sustainable safety systems, driving engagement, and ensuring that every level of leadership is aligned on accountability, resilience, and operational excellence. Before joining ONT9, I served as the multi-site Workplace Health & Safety Manager for DCA2 (Grocery Distribution Center) and SLA6 (Sub-Same-Day Delivery) in Eastvale, California. These two facilities represented distinct operating models — high-volume grocery fulfillment and rapid-turn delivery — each requiring tailored safety strategies. Across both sites, my teams reduced the Recordable Injury Rate (RIR) from 10.102 to 8.548, lowered Lost-Time Injury Rate (LTIR) by 85%, and increased Near-Miss and First-Aid reporting participation by over 300% through data-driven decision-making, leadership development, and hands-on engagement. My leadership philosophy began long before Amazon — in a Pennsylvania garage, working beside my dad at J&J Home Improvement. He taught me three lessons that still guide everything I do: do it right the first time, own your results, and take care of your people.During my 20-year U.S. Army career (2001–2021), I applied those same values in safety, logistics, and emergency management roles across Iraq, Kosovo, Germany, and NATO Headquarters in Belgium. I managed Class I–IX supply operations, hazardous materials and ordnance transport, and risk-management programs supporting thousands of soldiers across multinational operations. At Amazon, I continue that mission — building safe, efficient, and people-focused workplaces where performance and well-being are inseparable.Outside of work, I remain committed to community and service — working with organizers for Wreaths Across America, Flags for the Fallen and other events at Riverside National Cemetery, mentoring youth through Beaumont AYSO and Legends FC Yucaipa, as well as supporting veterans through the American Legion, DAV, and the FOE.My purpose remains constant: to build safer, stronger, and more resilient teams through integrity, accountability, and care.
