Design new products and components including sheet metal, extrusions and injection molded components.Created 3D CAD models, production drawings, BOM’s, manufacturing and customer installation instructions for new products.Led design teams in updated Makerarm scara robot design for manufacturability, improved functionality and reduced cost.Designed, fabricated, and coded a platform for testing static and dynamic performance of guide rail components.Worked in C++ to modify, test and improve Makerarm firmware.Sourced new components for Makerarm from China and the US.Fabricated prototypes from cnc and waterjet parts, sheet metal, extrusions and 3-D printed plastic.Calculated and coded animated OpenSCAD model to analyze tool head offset correction of a SCARA robot.Traveled to China to evaluate partner factories work with sourcing and design teams and complete fabrication of pre-production prototypes.
