   As Director of Industrial Hygiene at WM, I lead the development, implementation, and oversight of programs that protect the health and safety of employees, customers, and the communities we serve. My role encompasses strategic direction, regulatory compliance, and technical support across WM’s diverse operations, including WM Healthcare, chemical and municipal solid waste landfills, and recycling and material recovery facilities.I oversee comprehensive industrial hygiene and exposure control programs that address chemical, biological, and physical hazards across our nationwide network. This includes managing programs for air monitoring, noise exposure, respiratory protection, chemical safety, and hazard communication while ensuring compliance with OSHA, EPA, and state-specific environmental health regulations.Key responsibilities include:• Directing WM’s Industrial Hygiene and Healthcare Compliance programs, ensuring adherence to applicable federal and state standards.• Providing oversight for chemical waste and solid waste landfill operations, including exposure assessments, monitoring, and control strategies.• Supporting recycling and material recovery facilities in managing airborne contaminants, noise, and ergonomic risks.• Collaborating with operations, safety, and environmental leadership to integrate IH principles into WM’s overall EHS strategy.• Leading industrial hygiene training, audits, and exposure monitoring programs across multiple business lines.• Advising leadership on emerging occupational health risks and developing proactive mitigation strategies.Through these efforts, I help ensure WM maintains its commitment to protecting people, preserving the environment, and fostering a culture of safety and compliance across all business segments.
