Functions range from providing internal toxicological / regulatory consultation, conducting human health risk assessments, and horizon scanning of newly proposed legislation/regulations/standards for impact assessment. • Serves as a key member of Merck’s formal exposure limit setting committee for protection of patients, workers and the environment. • Conducts human health risk assessments for drug substances, intermediates, raw materials, and/or biological agents to support due diligence remediation projects, and site operating permits, to ensure compliance with related regulations (e.g, Global Health and Safety (GHS), Classication, Labelling and Packaging (CLP), Registration, Evaluation, and Authorization of Chemicals (REACH), Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA)). • Proactively provide regulatory and technical support for new process and product development and manufacturing sites in collaboration with industrial hygiene, occupational medicine, quality, environmental engineers, and external partners. • Author, update and maintain core product documents (e.g, health-based exposure limit monographs and environmental quality criteria monographs), contribute the development of relevant quality guidelines, as well as develop and maintain relevant sections of Safety Data Sheets.
