Joshua Threadcraft is a trial and class action attorney in Burr & Forman’s Financial Services Practice Group with more than two decades of experience during which he has served as first chair counsel in bench, jury trials and arbitrations tried to verdict. He is admitted to practice law in the five Southern states where the firm has offices (Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, and Tennessee) as well as Kentucky, Texas and numerous federal courts. Joshua routinely serves as lead trial counsel defending individual, multi-plaintiff and class action lawsuits asserting claims ranging from alleged violations of federal statutes including the Telephone Consumer Protection Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act and Fair Debt Collection Practices Act to alleged violations of state law in both state and federal courts across the country.Joshua also has extensive experience involving escalated reverse mortgage litigation in both state and federal court, including both the trial and appeal in the 2021 Florida Supreme Court case WVMF Funding v. Luisa Palmero, which held that, as a matter of law, a spouse who does not sign a reverse mortgage note is not a borrower on the loan.
