The Physical Security Specialist plays a vital role in safeguarding people, assets, and information within the organization. This position requires a proactive and detail-oriented individual with a strong understanding of security principles and procedures. Responsibilities include implementing, maintaining, and monitoring physical security systems, conducting security assessments, and responding to security incidents.Install, maintain, and troubleshoot various physical security systems: Access control systems (key cards, fobs, biometric readers) CCTV (closed-circuit television) and video surveillance systems Intrusion detection and alarm systems Perimeter security systems (fences, gates, etc.) Conduct security assessments and identify vulnerabilities: Regularly assess buildings, grounds, and security procedures for potential weaknesses Recommend and implement corrective actions to improve security posture Monitor security systems and respond to incidents: Actively monitor alarms, video feeds, and access control logs for suspicious activity Investigate and respond to security incidents promptly and effectively Coordinate with law enforcement and other emergency personnel when necessary Develop and enforce security policies and procedures: Assist in writing and updating security policies and procedures Train employees on security protocols and ensure compliance Conduct drills and exercises to test preparedness for security incidents Maintain accurate records and documentation: Document security incidents, investigations, and system maintenance activities Prepare reports and keep management informed of security risks and improvements Escort visitors and manage access to secure areas Operate security checkpoints and conduct security screenings Contribute to emergency response plans and procedures
