ABOUT JOSHUA ORTIZ
I am a POSSE scholar, with a Cognitive Science degree from Pomona College. After mostly studying Philosophy, Politics, and Economics, I focused on Cognitive Science, with an emphasis on Cognitive Neuroscience. Accordingly, much of my research is in pursuit of merging neuroscience tools and methods with theories and hypotheses from cognitive science. The end goal, in my eyes, is not only to broaden our fundamental understanding of humans, but to find the ways that we can make ourselves better. Whether that be pursuing, finding, understanding, and developing those means through research, and/or applying that research to our every day lives, I firmly believe in using our intellectual abilities to solve current (and future) problems.
