About Joshua McIntyre
Upon graduating from Kent State University, Allstate offered me a full time position as a Windows Server Engineer on the Server Platform Lifecycle team. As I matured in my role, I gathered the following skills and responsibilities.• Enterprise level Windows Server patching using SCCM Software Updates and WSUS• Performed legally mandated vulnerability patching on PCI machines, while also assisting security personnel in identifying vulnerabilities across all platforms with strict deadlines• Managed and owned the enterprise service catalog for software deployments on Windows servers; Responsibilities included troubleshooting failed deployments, coaching project teams, keeping extensive records, and working with application vendors• Created ITIL compliant change documentation for all work performed on servers • Held meetings to educate and empower offshore resources, eventually expanding their roles and bringing a greater value to Allstate as a whole• Engineered a functional method of firmware patching in Allstate’s aging HP Blade Chassis infrastructure to provide better environment stability and close heart bleed related vulnerabilities• Owned and fulfilled the process of moving servers from one claims office location to another; As a member of a project team for each move, I worked closely with onsite contractors to safely move existing hardware to new locations and new networks.
