Responsible for the coordination of all aspects of the patients care throughout the bone marrow/stem cell donation process- Initiate testing/procedures, education, pre-collection, and post-collection follow-up- Participate in the pre-collection medical and psychosocial assessment- Coordinate all medical workups and treatments/procedures of potential bone marrow/stem cell donors- Initiate and maintain all clinical records, statistics, data forms, and clinical studies- Act as liaison between donors, physicians, and all other involved parties- Assist in quality assurance, research and develop clinical protocols to optimize donor care- Engage with international donor organizations including The National Marrow Donor Program, Be The Match, Rhode Island & New York Blood Center, and Gift of Life to provide a safe and positive donation experience for volunteer bone marrow and stem cell donors.
