ABOUT JOSHUA CUYLER

I’ve spent over 18 years working in the valley in landscape construction as an expert irrigation technician and plant consultant, but I\'ve also held a range of different roles over the years, including owning my own small landscaping business. Though I specialize in all aspects of irrigation system maintenance, repair, and installation, I’ve worn many different hats, and as a result my work in the landscape industry has led to the development of various useful skills. These skills include expert proficiency with a multitude of manual & power tools from basic spade shovels to CAT skid steers, and mental skills such as calculating voltage drop in a new low voltage landscape lighting system. In addition, I have a high level of proficiency in interpersonal communication including customer service, de-escalation, collections, and probing skills. These (always) developing skills along with my preference for technical environments, and my time in the landscaping construction industry, has helped me develop both an extremely strong work ethic and a constant sense of learning that has led to the ability to adapt well to many different situations, as well as have a high attention to detail with safety skills always paramount (especially in the Arizona summer heat!). I have also devoted around 6 years refining my IT toolset involving involved some of the following: maintaining & learning Linux operating systems (specifically Debian/Ubuntu; Kali Linux is my daily OS that I use), website development (HTML/CSS, Java), Python coding, hardware troubleshooting and repair (OS Installation, Dual Boots, etc), hardware implementation (think Raspberry Pi firewall, pfSense, etc.), and VPN implementation/troubleshooting (e.g, split tunneling).
