The Director of Emergency Preparedness and Campus Safety provides administrative direction, management, and operations for the college\'s district emergency preparedness and management and public safety functions. This position actively supports and engages in the College’s mission, core themes, and values of learning, integrity, respect, accountability, and sustainability. • Responsible for overseeing, developing, coordinating, implementing, and monitoring all emergency preparedness, mitigation, response, and recovery activities and standards to facilitate a safe environment for students, faculty, staff, and community.• Conduct and coordinate education and exercises within the organization\'s executive leadership, management teams, and appropriate staff to ensure an organized response during a disaster.• Conduct annual hazard vulnerability assessments/risk analysis to determine the District’s risk and vulnerabilities for natural, technological, human-caused, and other disasters.• Develop and maintain emergency plans and procedures for disasters identified by hazard and risk assessment and analysis.• Provide management, guidance, and oversight to Campus Safety and security staff and functions, including building security and access, fire and security alarms, and enforcement of parking, safety, and security policies across the district.• Establish, enhance, and maintain a professional, positive, safe, and bias-free working environment and engagement with students, employees, and the community that respects and encourages equity, diversity, and inclusion.• Enhance and maintain relationship establishment and de-escalation techniques and tactics when engaging in an active situation.• Act as the Campus Security Administrator for the college to meet the requirements of the U.S. Department of Education regarding the Clery Act.
