The day is early in Peoria, Illinois, and the sun is just barely peeking over the horizon. The Midwest feels both silent and still, except for the sound of a ballpoint pen moving swiftly across crisp parchment paper. The hand guiding the pen belongs to Josh Waite –– he is carrying out the daily routine he has done religiously for the past decade –– journaling. Wearing multiple (rather demanding yet ultra-fulfilling) hats means that Josh doesn’t get much quiet time in a typical day. Knowing this, Josh has made it a habit to set aside a little time each morning to kick-off each day in prayer, gratitude, and visualizing key moments to come –– visualizing taking them head on and succeeding time and time again.
