About Josh Rowin
The intersection of Business Management and Personal Privacy Protection where online trust and safety are at stake is a surprisingly underserved space full of wicked problems and a fog of ambiguity. Profits and Ethics; Compliance and Risk; Corporations and Consumers; all these factors and more are constantly dancing together with dreams of peace and harmony for all. Well, maybe this is my dream? Trust and safety are a series of kept promises. And when we aim to create online experiences which meet or exceed consumer expectations, privacy laws, and corporate values we need to ensure we embed safeguards into everything we do. And this is where I fill in, as a strategic trust leader dedicated to promoting and supporting a culture of privacy (and security) best practices across business lines, ecosystems, and even borders. Together, collaborating with leaders from other functions, our teams have designed, developed, and delivered creative data uses and compliant business practices, to varying degrees of success, and constantly learned from a bias to action. I’ve led privacy implementations and management programs from technical specifications to operations and, in addition to having my CIPP/US, I’ve also nurtured and supported some amazing privacy professionals along the way. A listing of my competencies: Privacy Impact Assessment Policy Management Safeguard Design Safeguard Implementation Compliance Maintenance Risk Management Individual Rights Consent Management Audit & Monitoring Training & Engagement Available to discuss new opportunities in the greater Seattle area, West coast tech corridors, or virtual (remote).
