About Josh H.
As a Mechanical Engineer at Fermilab National Accelerator Laboratory, I have worked through the entire lifecycle of components which are used in cryogenic and high vacuum environments. From design conception to analysis, drawing creation to procurement, vendor communications and site visits to incoming QC, onsite testing to final implementation, I have gained a considerable amount of experience in my time at Fermilab so far. As President of NIU\'s Supermileage vehicle engineering team, I gained hands on experience in the design and fabrication of mechanical components. Additionally, I learned how to effectively lead a team of people towards a common goal, manage a budget, and create realistic schedules for expected progress. During my time as president, we were able to achieve MPG, and placed first in the Shell Eco-marathon, an international competition. As an Eagle Scout, I learned the values that would guide me through life from the Scout Law, which included points such as being trustworthy, helpful, courteous, and kind. My Eagle Scout Project taught me more about leadership, and that it takes dedicated, hard work to achieve your goals. These lessons have served me well, and have given me a solid foundation upon which to build myself. High Impact Technical Skills• 3D Modeling Experience: Solidworks, Siemens NX, Inventor• Finite Element Analysis: ANSYS Workbench• Product Design, Design for Manufacturing and Assembly• Vendor Management and Communications• Budgeting, LeadershipPlease feel free to contact me with a message through LinkedIn.
