WORK HISTORY
Finance Manager @DXC Technology
Manchester, GB
Key AchievementsLed multiple invoice start-up projects, delivering tailored billing solutions for multi-million-pound, multi-year IT service contracts across both public and private sector clients. These weren’t standard setups — each one required working through complex contract terms and turning them into something that could actually be billed.Worked closely with clients, finance, and delivery teams to design and implement billing processes that are accurate, repeatable, and on time. A big part of my role has been making sure billing doesn’t become a blocker to the business.Carried out detailed contract analysis and client discussions to uncover additional reporting and control requirements, then translated those into clear specifications for automated billing solutions.Delivered billing models across a range of commercial structures including Fixed Price, Time & Materials, Milestones, Volumetric, and more complex cloud-based models.Partnered with subject matter experts across Tax and Global Trade to ensure solutions were compliant and ready for operational handover, including supporting training and documentation.Alongside this, I’m currently completing an AI for Business Value apprenticeship, applying what I’m learning to real scenarios such as pre-sales contract review, where AI can help identify billing risks earlier and improve overall billing readiness.Key ResponsibilitiesEnd-to-end ownership of billing project delivery, making sure timelines, quality, and commercial outcomes are met.Building strong working relationships with clients and internal stakeholders, keeping everyone aligned and resolving issues early before they become problems.Breaking down complex contracts into clear, workable billing requirements that can be implemented in systems and processes.Bringing together cross-functional teams across finance, delivery, and technical areas to make sure solutions land properly and risks are managed.

ABOUT JOSH GREEN
I’ve spent my career making numbers work harder — turning financial processes into something that actually supports the business. For me, finance isn’t just reports and spreadsheets, it’s about collaboration, solving problems, and helping teams deliver for customers. At DXC Technology (and before that through the HP/HPE days), I’ve worked on global accounts where billing, contracts, and cash flow are complex and high-stakes. What I’m most proud of is how people come together across teams and geographies — my role has always been to make sure the financial side enables that, not slows it down. My strengths sit in financial analysis, stakeholder engagement, and process optimisation. Whether it’s improving billing models, tightening contract reviews, or bringing in automation, I focus on clarity, quality, and outcomes. More recently, I’ve been building on that through an AI for Business Value apprenticeship. It’s given me a more structured way of thinking about where AI actually works in a business — not as a silver bullet, but as something that needs the right data, process, and people around it. I’m already applying that thinking to things like pre-sales contract review, where AI can help flag risks early, improve billing readiness, and ultimately protect cash flow. Alongside the day job, I support the Digital Futures Academy with Manchester United Foundation, mentoring young people as they step into digital careers. It keeps me grounded and connected to the community here in Manchester. In short, I’m analytical, collaborative, and solutions-focused — but more than anything, I bring people together to get things done.
