My pivotal moment came in late 2022 when I prompted ChatGPT to generate an educational video script. The result was astonishingly good. In that moment, it became clear: AI is not here to replace L&D professionals. It is creating a new opportunity for us to lead.With over 30 years in learning strategy and workforce enablement, I have built my career at the intersection of technology and talent. As founder of Lodestone Digital, one of the largest Adobe Authorized Training Centers in the United States, I led large-scale programs that helped organizations modernize and scale learning operations. Today, the urgency to evolve is even greater. AI is the driver, and human expertise is the differentiator.Through JoshCavalier.ai, I work with organizations to prepare their teams for what’s next. I help transform traditional L&D roles into Human-Machine Performance Analysts, or HMPAs. This emerging role is essential. HMPAs act as strategic enablers, guiding the integration of AI systems into learning ecosystems to drive measurable business impact. They combine human insight with machine efficiency to create personalized, scalable, and outcome-driven learning solutions.I focus on building organizational capability through practical strategies, performance-driven tools, and actionable frameworks. My role focuses on ensuring leaders have clear, actionable insight into how artificial intelligence is impacting roles, tasks, and skills and how organizations can retain talent by creating realistic pathways for upskilling and reskilling.I work at the intersection of technology, talent strategy, and business outcomes, helping organizations understand not only where AI will change work, but also the financial implications of those changes. This includes translating complex workforce and AI data into decision-ready insights that support role redesign, talent mobility, and long-term workforce planning.In the near term, my focus is on partnering closely with our development team to guide the evolution of the Talent Rewire platform, shaping the methods, models, and functionality that enable accurate role impact analysis and scenario planning. In the long term, I lead strategy around vendor partnerships and ecosystem integration, extending the platform’s capabilities across learning, skills, and workforce technologies.As Talent Rewire evolves, I am also focused on advancing our roadmap into more agentic, AI-assisted decision support, ensuring our solutions remain practical, scalable, and grounded in real organizational constraints.
