I cultivated my leadership skills through my early-career experience in hardworking, blue-collar positions, refined them during my tenure in the U.S. Army, and finally expanded them into a full repertoire of business strengths as an MBA student at a Top 20 business school. Throughout my career, I delivered measurable improvements in business operations, finance, business development, and all types of programs and projects that are essential to success and growth.However, I am even more proud of my ability to stay calm in intense, high-pressure situations where each decision has cascading impacts on the team and company. My colleagues will tell you that my cool head has helped them to focus on quality, execute with agility, and maintain control, even when our circumstances change quickly. Although the military has a reputation for rigidity, I had many opportunities to flex my creative muscles and develop out-of-the-box solutions.Key Strengths: SOLVING MAJOR BUSINESS PROBLEMS – There’s always more than one way to progress from start to finish. I am fulfilled by bringing order to chaotic situations and facing a diversity of problems with the confidence that we can engineer the right solution. My successes include strengthening daily processes, removing sources of risk and waste, negotiating more favorable contracts and agreements, and teaching others to do the same. BUILDING STRONG TEAMS – Empathy is vital in every workplace culture, whether I’m meeting with internal stakeholders, external partners, or my own direct reports. I believe in a democratic leadership style that emphasizes humility, active listening, and putting others’ needs before my own. Every person’s opinion matters, from the newest hire to the most senior executive. This approach builds consensus, morale, loyalty, and productivity. During my time in the Army, I was recognized as one of the best in my brigade and chosen for a stretch assignment—a finance and acquisitions leader—where I would be truly challenged.
