About Josh Walton

Mr. Walton is an accomplished maintenance professional with nearly 30 years of experience in the mining and mine maintenance industries. He has built a distinguished career, advancing through roles of increasing responsibility. Beginning his journey at the production faces of Stillwater Mine, he transitioned into engineering and subsequently into maintenance, ultimately holding positions as high as Maintenance Manager. His career has spanned various locations, including Nevada, Alaska, and Wyoming, before returning to Montana, where he currently serves as Principal Consultant for Pilot & Index Mining Solutions.Josh\'s extensive experience encompasses both underground and surface hard-rock operations, underground petroleum mines, as well as surface coal mines. His proficiency in equipment maintenance ranges from small underground slushers and drills to some of the world\'s largest draglines, shovels, and haul trucks. His professional background has also fueled a passion for engine and component rebuilding. With over 20 years of experience outside of mining, Josh has worked on a diverse array of engines, including high-performance, circle track, drag race, and collector car engines, as well as industrial diesel engines, differentials, transmissions, and hydraulic components. He has successfully owned and operated three mechanic shops, two of which remains in operation today.In addition to his extensive maintenance experience, Josh is a skilled welder and fabricator, with over 10 years of industrial electrical experience. He specializes in low-voltage DC wiring and ruggedizing automotive and equipment wiring. Josh holds certifications, licenses, and awards from organizations such as ASE, NMA, ATF, SPM, Sandvik, WSMI, and MSHA, further underscoring the depth of his experience.
