I love this job. I had a goal to be an evening news anchor. The amazing people at NewsChannel 9 made that happen. I was driving in a U-Haul from Western Michigan to Chattanooga when my news director called me to talk about some ideas he wanted to share about my new job. He asked me on that call if there was a specific area where I would like to focus my reporting. I told him military veterans and that\'s how we started our Price of Freedom series. We\'ve been telling those stories since I first walked into the door at NewsChannel 9. It is the most rewarding journalism of my career to this point. The link below is from one of my favorite stories from that series. It was pitched as a veteran who couldn\'t go to the VA and play guitar for the patients because of Covid-19. When I got to the interview I heard an incredible love story.
