ABOUT JOSH RAMIREZ
I’m a Certified Public Manager by the State of Texas. Has worked in City Government for over 26 years in various positions and my goal is to become an Assistant City Manager, City Manager or an Assistant General Manager, General Manager. Most of my years of working experience are in city government and has been a Department Director and City Manager support capacity. I have worked in many Binational Health Collaborations with Mexico, and Central America, to improve communications of Reportable Communicable Diseases that transcend our borders. Co-authored research on Dengue Prevalence along the U.S-Mexico Border. Previously served as the President/Chair of the Animal Issues Committee for the Texas Department of Emergency Management, representing Hidalgo County, Cameron County, and Willacy County, for the implementation and coordination of a safe evacuation plan for animals and pets.Organized and Worked with CDC on many methodical investigations over Dengue and the 2005 Hemorrhagic Dengue outbreak in Brownsville, Texas & Matamoros Tamaulipas. Organized and led the Construction of the Brownsville Animal Regulation & Care facility (Animal Shelter). Have improved Vector control surveillance programs in Brownsville, McAllen, and Harlingen Texas. Has provided technical support to \"Jurisdiccion Sanitarias\" for the development and implementation of a Vector Control surveillance program in Matamoros, and Reynosa Tamaulipas. Have improved Code Enforcement and Health Inspection processes and performances in the City of Brownsville, City of McAllen, and City of Harlingen Texas. Lead and Organize the Vector Control deployment on behalf of the State of Texas, and the Center for Disease Control (CDC) in the Dallas, Texas area. In an effort to control and prevent an outbreak of West Nile Virus transmitted by mosquitoes to humans.I have served as Incident Commander at the Sacred Heart Church in McAllen assisting Catholic Charities with the Humanitarian Respite Center.
