I provide comprehensive administrative support to a busy Pathology Department and work closely with multiple physicians, residents, and lab teams. Each day, I help ensure smooth operations in a high-volume clinical setting where accuracy, speed, and confidentiality are critical. I’m responsible for processing bone marrow cases from start to finish. The process includes reviewing surgical reports, updating requisitions, and compiling critical clinical data to finalize reports used in patient care.I manage a steady stream of in-house and external pathology send-outs, maintain the chain of custody, and coordinate closely with institutions like CHLA and specialized labs. I also log and assign dozens of new pathology cases each week including surgical specimens and complex diagnostic tests. These tasks require a keen eye for detail and strict adherence to compliance protocols which I take very seriously.I regularly liaise with the Core Lab to initiate additional diagnostic testing and ensure timely integration of results into the final reports. I also create and manage digital pathology records by using specialized software. Further, I customize report templates based on lab results and requisitions. When addenda are required, whether for standard reports or specialized A/R cases, I transcribe and finalize them and make sure all necessary reviews and approvals are completed before submission.Beyond the clinical side, I maintain departmental tracking logs, contribute to compliance reporting, and support daily operations. This includes preparing presentations, managing supplies and equipment, processing expense reports, and responding to physician and staff inquiries. Every aspect of my work is rooted in a deep respect for accuracy, patient privacy, and the vital role our department plays in the broader continuum of care.
