I focus on project management, delivery processes and internal alignment so that Ops Managers, Task Team Leaders and fee earners have the tools, training and information they need to deliver effectively.Process and project management improvement- Review AACE’s end to end approach to project management, from opportunity approval through to task closure, and identify practical improvements- Define and embed standard ways of working for planning, risk management, forecasting, and reporting across all Ops teams- Own and refine core project management tools, templates and guidance so that they are simple, proportionate and used consistently.Support to Ops Managers and delivery teams- Provide direct support to Ops Managers, Task Team Leaders and fee earners to set up and run tasks in line with best practice- Help teams understand and use project data, including effort variance, and progress against plan, to support decision making- Coordinate cross-team initiatives, ensuring that good practice from one area is captured and shared across the company.Governance, training and change- Support leadership in setting expectations for project governance, including reviews, approvals and reporting requirements- Develop and deliver internal training on project management, consultancy behaviours and use of AACE tools and processes- Monitor how new processes are adopted, collect feedback and iterate the approach so that it remains proportionate for an SME environment.

A defence safety engineer and operations manager with a Royal Navy background and consultancy experience across the Land and Maritime domains. I lead AACE’s Land Safety and Engineering team, act as Operations Manager for key contracts, and support the leadership as Chief of Staff, focusing on clear ways of working that help teams deliver.Defence Safety Engineering (Land & Maritime)Deliver safety and environmental assurance for complex defence equipment, particularly land fleets and maritime systems. Experience includes Safety Cases, Hazard Logs, SECRs and SEMPs aligned with DEFSTAN 00-056, BS EN 61508 and ASEMS POSMS/POEMS. Work has covered Project MITER COTS/MOTS assets), explosive vapour detection systems, submarine functional safety and Royal Navy materiel such as telehandlers and breathing air systems.Operations and Chief of Staff SupportLead the Land Safety and Engineering portfolio, managing utilisation, profit and delivery performance while coaching engineers at different levels. Act as Operations and Senior Project Manager for major contracts, ensuring scope, plans, risks and reporting are clear and realistic. As Chief of Staff, review how tasks are project managed end to end, support Ops Managers, Task Team Leaders and fee earners, and help embed consistent, proportionate project management and governance across AACE.Business Process ImprovementDesign simple, practical processes and tools that support rather than hinder delivery. Examples include authoring and implementing AACE’s bid management policy, developing internal productivity and project management tools, and helping to shape training and competency frameworks for engineers and consultants. Focus on usable templates, clear expectations and sensible metrics.Commercial and Bid ManagementBring hands-on commercial experience from roles as Bid Manager at AACE and Marine Engineering SME at Inzpire (as well as Co-Founder of Hind Homes Ltd). Comfortable evaluating opportunities, shaping strategies, coordinating inputs and aligning technical, commercial and financial considerations. Experience covers defence frameworks such as EDP and PDP as well as small business risk and cashflow.Leadership and DevelopmentPreviously held senior engineering management roles in the Royal Navy, running marine engineering departments at sea and ashore, including on the UK’s aircraft carrier and Type 45 Destroyers. Track record in building high-performing teams, managing maintenance and upgrade projects, and improving training pipelines through coaching and accountability.
