Co-Founder of Scyntek, a student-led startup focused on developing a non-invasive diagnostic device for the early detection of deep vein thrombosis (DVT). Our goal is to provide an accessible, at-home screening solution that can identify potential blood flow abnormalities before symptoms appear, reducing the risk of complications such as pulmonary embolism.As a hardware and test engineer, I am responsible for:Hardware Design & Development: Creating and refining the device’s structure to optimize sensor placement and ensure ease of use.Sensor Integration: Implementing photoplethysmography (PPG) technology and signal processing techniques to accurately assess venous blood flow.Performance Testing & Validation: Conducting bench tests and prototype evaluations to enhance measurement reliability, minimize signal noise, and improve motion artifact reduction.Regulatory & Product Development Strategy: Collaborating on the regulatory roadmap to align with FDA guidelines and clinical validation requirements.Our team is currently working on prototype iterations, clinical feasibility studies, and exploring regulatory pathways to bring this technology to market. Excited to continue refining our device and expanding access to early DVT detection!
