I am excited to use my experience to identify help prepare for, safely respond to, and recover from emergency situations. I do this by using a continuous improvement cycle that has worked through many applications in my public/private experiences-Work to identify opportunities for improvement between current processes compared to best known methods or best practices-Collaborate with the appropriate parties to develop a plan of action to implement the change then help affected personnel learn about and implement the change-Evaluate the effectiveness of the changes that were made through incident critiques or exercises. I enjoy leading or participating on a team to establish and accomplish (and hopefully exceed) goals in the most efficient and effective way possible. This is accomplished through taking care of the people involved, clearly identifying objectives and tasks, and direct, open and honest collaboration. I strive to not only continuously improve business processes but also myself-I am constantly learning by communicating with peers, reading articles, attending courses, etc-I would rather confront adversity and find an amicable solution than ignore it-I am constantly evaluating my decisions and actions after an incident to see what I could have done better or different.Everything above is only successful when it involves the right people. Therefore, I also enjoy working on establishing and maintaining relationships, both internal and external to the company, that are beneficial to the organization\'s success. Lastly, knowing who the internal customers and external customers are so I can ensure their needs are being met, which benefits everyone.
