Being a teacher taught me about people management, employee engagement, conflict management, the power of collaboration and the importance of a growth mindset. I gained strong communication and presentation skills. I dedicated myself to my craft and earned Teacher of the Year after just 4 years of teaching. I earned this award not just because of my teaching skills but because I connected with students personally, demonstrated empathy and compassion, guided, mentored, and inspired them to achieve more. I was always willing to go above and beyond for my students. After all, you don\'t become a middle school lip sync battle champion (my proudest accomplishment) by just doing the bare minimum.Now as an HR Business Partner I have continued to apply those skills and more in the business world. As an HRBP my focus is on employee advocacy, developing managers, change management, data analysis, and achieving business results. I support approximately 250 employees, both union and non-union. I have learned that with strong leaders, a support structure, and a clear vision employees will reach their potential and achieve the unimaginable.
