About Josh Berry
I am currently serving as the Chief of Special Operations and SWAT Commander at the Rockbridge County Sheriff’s Office. Prior to my current position, I held the role of Deputy Chief of Police for the Winchester Police Department where I also served as Interim Chief of Police. I have extensive experience in various specialized areas, including forensics, internet crimes against children (ICAC), and violent crime. This background has equipped me with the skills to effectively navigate complex cases and deliver justice for victims.Prior to beginning my law enforcement career, I served six years in the US Army as an infantryman and fire team leader. I served in Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2011 as a heavy machine gunner atop a mine resistant ambush protected (MRAP) vehicle. Education has also been a cornerstone of my professional development. I hold Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Liberty University in Criminal Justice and Public Administration.
