About Joseph Thorndike
I\'m director of the Tax History Project at Tax Analysts and a historian of American fiscal policy. I\'m a contributing editor of Tax Notes and a frequent contributor to Forbes and other national publications. My work has appeared in the New York Times, the Washington Post, the Wall Street Journal, and numerous scholarly journals. I\'m also a regular guest on NPR, Fox News, CBS, and other broadcasters.I joined Tax Analysts in 1987 and have served in several roles, including congressional reporter and associate editor in chief. With Robert Goulder, I co-created two video series — \"History is Taxing\" and \"Five Minutes On.\" I\'m the author or co-editor of several books, including Their Fair Share: Taxing the Rich in the Age of FDR. I hold a B.A. from Williams College and an M.A. and Ph.D. in history from the University of Virginia.
