ABOUT JOSEPH S.

I am a junior at Fordham University’s Gabelli School of Business pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Information Systems. I am from the Bronx and am a first-generation college student. As a first-generation college student, I greatly value excelling in school and learning the skills necessary to succeed in my career. I am a member of the Alternative Investments Club and the Finance Society at Fordham. I focus on developing my Excel skills and learning Python in my free time. The PVH Ground Floor Challenge is a part of the core curriculum at Fordham. The challenge was creating a business plan for a brand new business. I worked on a six-person team, and I took on the CFO’s role for the company. My work included figuring out the start-up and operational costs, pricing of the service, and a complete financial plan for its operations in one year. I also researched the various technical solutions necessary to build and maintain a website. My experience working on a team taught me the importance of effective communication and collaboration to complete a task.
