About Joseph D. Simpson

My career path depicts experience in information technology, academia, and leadership in many facets to include retiring with rank of major from the United States Army. I have strengths in tactical planning, team building, and mission implementation. I truly understand the impacts and value of effective leadership and how to strategically influence organizations, processes, and people. My non-technical, core competencies in terms of communications, leadership, decision making, and analytical/problem solving are implied as follows: Leadership -Approximately 15 years experience effectively leading teams of three members up to organizations of about 130-Served as Director of Facilities Engineering during a deployment in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, and awarded the Bronze Star Medal for meritorious service and Joint Service Commendation Medal. Communication -Proficient in building rapport and trust quickly with superiors, colleagues and subordinates-Positions listed on profile require excellent written and oral communication to include working knowledge of most Microsoft Office products. Decision Making -Experienced entrepreneur, dean of education, program chair, commander, director, operations officer, project manager, and team leader. These positions require assessing situations, adjusting priorities, and making critical decisions-Spent the last three years coaching senior/high-ranking leadership in the Military Decision Making Process (MDMP). Analysis and Problem Solving -Experience in implementation and management of large, complex telecommunication projects that contribute to today’s emerging voice and data application (i.e. 4G and U-Verse Networks)-Provided service and support for an organization of over 600 personnel.
