About Joseph Doria

I am a senior at Wake Forest University with a major in Finance and a minor in Entrepreneurship. I am fascinated by the global economy with all of its intricacies and how it can affect a multitude of individuals and institutions. At Wake Forest, I am a member of the Boxing Club, Italian Club, Dow Jones Club, and the Catholic Community. In most of these clubs, I am a member of the executive board, where I am responsible for organizing events, interacting with students, and designing our schedule for the year. I am passionate about these organizations because they allow me to take initiative and lead others. In addition to clubs, I am a student employee of the Event and Facility Operations for the Wake Forest Athletic Department. Here, I am in charge of planning the logistical operations of sporting events, such as football, basketball, baseball, soccer, field hockey, and volleyball. This position has taught me the importance of detail and communication with my coworkers and patrons. I have experience with strategic planning and problem solving through working on a startup, in the Wake Forest Center for Entrepreneurship Startup Lab, called SAFErgy, over the past two years. I have contributed, as Co-Founder and CEO, to effectively produce a working business model, create meaningful financial planning and projections, and pitch the business in front of several crowds of Wake Forest students and members of the Center for Entrepreneurship Advisory Board. Outside of Wake Forest, I have interned at Merrill Lynch Private Wealth Management in New York City. I gained firsthand experience in the wealth management industry by interacting with a multitude of financial advisors and learning about their positions. My professional goal is to become a financial advisor in the private wealth management industry. I believe that this position is perfect for me because it emphasizes leadership and interpersonal communication with clients. I am confident that I can bring my personable, organized, and cooperative personality to any company looking for an enthusiastic student willing to learn and contribute to the organization’s success.
