ABOUT JOSEPH CHOI
Joseph Choi is a fourth-year undergraduate student at the University of Toronto, St. George Campus (Trinity College), pursuing a major in Criminology with double minors in Political Science and Sociology.With a strong interest in criminal justice and public policy, Joseph is focused on a future career in academia. His academic interests include youth justice, rehabilitation, and correctional policy. He is currently engaged in multiple research initiatives at the University of Toronto, the Macdonald-Laurier Institute, and Public Safety Canada. His work spans topics such as the role of police unions in shaping criminal justice policy, the state of guns and gangs literature in Canada, the institutional history of the National Police Federation, and the landscape of correctional rehabilitation programs.In addition to his academic research, Joseph has gained practical policy experience through roles with the Government of Ontario, including as a Legislative Assistant to the Solicitor General and as a Research Intern in the Office of the Attorney General.
