About Joseph Burtzlaff

Growing up with two parents who met on Capitol Hill, politics and government have always been an integral part of my life. The knowledge and experiences they shared with me led to me to want to pursue a similar career in public service. Naturally, studying political science in college made sense to me. The combination of a writing intensive and analytical thinking degree have led to major growth in my communication and research skills. In addition to the writing and theory-based skills I have acquired from my political science major thus far, I decided to take the step to grow even further, adding a second major in Strategic Communication, giving me broader knowledge in public relations, media studies, digital development, and press communications to give me a wider latitude in my educational experiences, and apply those experiences to create real world solutions. Since the completion of my undergraduate education, I am pursuing a career in national security and intelligence with the federal government. Whether in the classroom or the student center, my time at Miami has instilled a deep appreciation for diversity across people, perspectives, and experiences, all of which are essential to workplace success and will be a tremendous asset in my future career.

   Lead the Partnership’s accounts receivable efforts to include the timely and accurate creation, collection, and tracking of all invoices and payments - Manage numerous operational priorities including internal Salesforce use strategy and technical support, state business registrations, and intern program management - Collaborate with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders to ensure maximum alignment on project and priority goals, metrics, and outcomes
