Desert Waters Correctional Outreach (DWCO) assists correctional agencies and other public safety organizations in addressing “Corrections Fatigue” and related occupational stressors by promoting a healthier organizational climate and enhancing workforce engagement through evidence-informed wellness initiatives, skill-building training programs, and applied research.At DWCO, we believe that staff wellness is a necessary component of and a prerequisite for prison reform. Further, establishment of a healthy work culture and environment through a focus on wellness breeds not only trauma and stress resilience, but a safer, more efficient, and more effective workforce. As a DWCO Wellness Advisor and Master Instructor, I facilitate remote and in person training related to staff wellness and resiliency to corrections professionals and their family members. I also provide consultation, evaluation, and recommendations to correctional agencies and other first responders regarding the development and implementation of staff wellness resources and initiatives.
