ABOUT JOSEPH T.

Joseph is currently a Program Manager on the U.S. Northern Command (NORTHCOM) J59 Security Cooperation staff, supporting joint security cooperation planning with Canada, Mexico, and The Bahamas.Prior to NORTHCOM, he led a nine-person Maritime Outreach team and managed maritime security cooperation efforts throughout Europe and Africa at U.S. Naval Forces Europe-Africa and Commander, U.S. Sixth Fleet (CNE-CNA-C6F) in Naples, Italy. Joseph previously served as an active duty Naval Officer in the Operations Department onboard the amphibious assault ship USS BATAAN (LHD 5). He completed deployments to the Mediterranean Sea, Red Sea, and Persian Gulf in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.Upon completion of his active duty service, Joseph was a consultant with Booz Allen Hamilton and supported a variety of projects with the Office of the Secretary of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Air Force, and various U.S. Navy agencies and organizations. He transitioned to the Office of Chief of Naval Operations (OPNAV) staff in 2012, where he managed the Resources and Assessments Team in the OPNAV Information Dominance Directorate (N2/N6) Maritime Domain Awareness (MDA) office. Joseph left the OPNAV staff to join the CNE-CNA-C6F team in April 2014 and NORTHCOM in November 2019.In addition to his civilian career, Joseph is also an officer in the U.S. Navy Reserve, assigned as the unit Commanding Officer of a 53-member navy reserve unit supporting Naval Station Rota in Spain. As a reservist, Joseph has mobilized to Baghdad, Iraq, as a Civil Affairs Officer supporting civil military operations on a multi-national staff.Joseph earned a B.S. in Computer Science from Villanova University in May of 2003 and an MBA from the University of Florida in April of 2011.
